In the section "Storage Connectors", the connection to the storage systems can be defined. Currently there are two supported storage systems:
For Azure Blob Storage the versioning functionality is not available due to restrictions in the storage. For that reason we recommend Azure Blob Storage for storing non-working documents and archiving. SharePoint is recommended for documents which are work in progress and where version history is needed.
For setting up azure blob storage click the add button, enter a name and choose the type "Azure Blob Storage". Next use the available fields to define the connection.
For setting up SharePoint Online click the add button, enter a name and choose the type "SharePoint Online". Next use the available fields to define the connection to the SharePoint library. See the next section on how to subscribe to events from SharePoint to keep Content Gate in sync. Also keep in mind the limits Microsoft imposes on these subscriptions.
To subscribe to storage events go to the section 'Storage Event Susbcribtions'.
Subscribing to events from SharePoint will keep the Content Gate in sync with SharePoint if anything changes from within SharePoint. E.g. if a document is changed, Content Gate will update the document metadata. Or if a document is deleted from SharePoint, Content Gate will delete the link to that document.
Click the add button to add a new subscription and choose the url/site/library you want to receive events from. After creating the subscription you can see which storage connectors are covered by this subscription.
Microsoft imposes limits on the number of SharePoint subscriptions one tenant can create. To prevent hitting these limits it is possible to create multiple storage connectors for the same library but each pointed towards a different folder. This way you can have separate storage locations (separate folders) but only one subscription. The limits for subscriptions are:
