Integrating Finance and Operations and Customer Engagement entities

*This article assumes Business entities have been setup for both Finance and Operations and Customer Engagement.

To integrate Finance and Operations and Customer engagement entities, first the entity needs to be setup for either one of the connectors. In the example the Customer entity of Finance and Operations is used.

Add a link to Customer engagement using the Link a new Business Entity connector function on the business entity.

If a link has been added to a Business entity connector of a different type a new section will be made available. This section is called Shared identifiers. A shared identifier is used to specify how the system can determine if a record in Customer Engagement can be paired with a record in Finance and Operations. In our example we will link a Customer in Finance and Operations to an Account in Customer Engagement by the Name. So a shared identifier is added called Name:

The next step is to map the Shared identifier for both Business entity connectors. This can be done in the Shared identifier mappings section of the tab of the business entity connector. In the example a field reference is used to the Name field of the Customer in Finance and Operations:

The same thing is done on the tab for the other Business entity provider. Once this configuration is saved, Content Gate will map accounts in Customer Engagement with Customers in Finance and operations with the same name. Also the visualization of the business entity model will indicate the entity being used both by Finance and operations and Customer Engagement:
